Tips for Telephonic Interview
Purpose of Telephonic Interview: Telephonic Interview is a tool for the employers to narrow down the pool of applicants who will be invited for Face to Face interview. It is also used to cut down their cost for outstation candidates. It is an effective method to measure candidate’s communication and listening skills. Remember your voice can tell many things about you.
Before the Interview
Prepare thoroughly: Review your resume, strengths, and weaknesses.
Choose a quiet, noise-free space.
Ensure your phone is fully charged and has good network coverage.
Have a glass of water nearby.
Keep your resume, paper, and pen handy. The interviewer would typically ask you questions based on your resume
Turn off call waiting.
Go to the washroom before the interview, incase the interview last longer than expected.
Ensure that you have no time conflicts during the interview schedule.
Keep some free time after the interview, just incase the interview runs a bit longer than it should.
Be ready to take the interview at the scheduled time.
During the Interview
Answer confidently, slowly, and clearly.
Be enthusiastic and sincere.
Smile while speaking (it affects your tone).
Listen attentively and take notes.
