 Job Description
 
Job Purpose:

Network Engineer II(NOC) is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting network systems to ensure optimal performance and availability. This role involves working with routing, switching, and wireless technologies, managing incidents, and developing and following standard operating procedures. The Engineer will work under the supervision of leads to analyze business needs, recommend solutions, and ensure the successful implementation and ongoing management of Operations and Infrastructure services.



Experience

•3-6 years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on routing, switching, and wireless technologies.
•Strong understanding of network protocols and security.
•Experience with incident management and SOP development.
•Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
•Experience with SD-WAN technologies and tools.
•Familiarity with circuit monitoring tools and techniques.



Essential Functions:

Network Monitoring and Maintenance:

Monitor network performance and identify issues.
Perform routine maintenance tasks, including software and hardware updates.
Ensure network security by implementing appropriate measures.

Incident Management:

Respond to network-related incidents and provide timely resolutions.
Document incidents and resolutions in the incident management system.
Escalate complex issues to higher-level support when necessary.

Routing and Switching:

Configure and manage routers and switches.
Troubleshoot routing and switching issues.
Optimize network performance through efficient routing and switching practices.

Wireless Network Management:

Install and configure wireless network devices.
Monitor and troubleshoot wireless network performance.
Ensure secure and reliable wireless connectivity.

SD-WAN Management:

Monitor and manage SD-WAN infrastructure.
Ensure optimal performance and reliability of SD-WAN links.
Troubleshoot and resolve SD-WAN related issues.

Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs):

Develop and maintain SOPs for network operations.
Ensure compliance with SOPs during network maintenance and incident management.
Train team members on SOPs and best practices.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations and changes.
Generate regular reports on network performance and incidents.
Provide recommendations for network improvements based on performance data.

General NOC Duties:

Monitor network infrastructure and systems for alarms and alerts.
Perform initial troubleshooting and escalate issues as needed.
Maintain accurate logs of incidents and actions taken.
Collaborate with other technical teams to resolve complex issues.

• Experience with support of enterprise environments including hybrid configurations.
• Manage the network/telecom/compute, including provisioning, configuration, and administration of services utilizing ITIL processes.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and provide end-user training and support.
• Participate in project planning, testing, and deployment strategies and activities.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and provide end-user training and support.
• Open and resolve incident and request tickets.
• Participate in Monthly on-call rotation.
• After hour and weekend activities possible
